Local MP Harriet Cross has joined the Spitfire AA810 campaign which aims to build a dedicated monument to remember the service of those who served in the Photographic Reconnaissance Unit (PRU). The PRU were instrumental in key decisions in the Churchill War Rooms and key military operations during World War Two such as D-Day and the Dambuster Raids.
Among those who served was James Henderson who served under exceptionally difficult conditions, and I would urge anyone who might have any more information on him to get in touch. I am looking forward to working with the Spitfire AA810 project to build a memorial to commemorate the service of PRU pilots and navigators.
The Spitfire AA810 campaign does great work with schools to educate pupils of the importance and impact the PRU had on World War Two.
