Local MP Harriet Cross and West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine MP Andrew Bowie wrote to the Chancellor following the Goverrnment’s decision to remove investment allowances and increase and extend the windfall tax on oil and gas companies.
In the letter, Harriet requests a meeting between the Chancellor, SoS for Energy and Net Zero Ed Miliband and Chancellor Rachel Reeves. Harriet said “We have requested that this meeting is held in North East Scotland to discuss these concerns in person in the UK’S energy capital - so they can see and feel on the ground the importance of the energy industry to Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire and the detriment impact their plans will have.”
